—–Born in Madrid in 1966. Music studies at the Real Conservatorio de Música, Madrid; composition, among others, by Mauricio Sotelo.

—–Attends numerous courses and seminars given by composers such as: Luis de Pablo, Emmanuel Nunes, Salvatore Sciarrino, Brian Ferneyhough, Gerard Grisey, Tristan Murail, etc.; also participates in the Internationale Ferienkurse Darmstadt.

—–In 1994, was selected by Brian Ferneyhough to receive the scholarship from the CDMC and the University of Alcala de Henares. Thit same year he was selected for the SGAE Composition Contest.

—–In 1995 he moves to Stuttgart, with a scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, to carry out postgraduate studies in composition with Helmut Lachenmann at the Musikhochschule of that city, graduating in 1998; simultaneously he works in the laboratory of electronic music with Reiner Wehinger.

—–In 1998 he moves to Freiburg im Breisgau, with a scholarship from the Heinrich Strobel Foundation, where he attends Mathias Spahlinger’s composition seminars until 1999.

—–His works have been performed at, and commissioned by, festivals such as: Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik (Witten), Tage für neue Musik (Zürich), Festival Smash (Salamanca), ISCM World Music Days, Bludenzer Tage zeitgemässer Musik (Austria), Ultima Festival (Oslo), Sound Festival (Aberdeen), Internationale Ferienkurse (Darmstadt), Contempuls (Prague), Musiikin aika (Finland), IRTIJAL (Beirut), Festival Internacional de Alicante, Ensems, Foro de Nueva Música Ciudad de México, Musik im XX. Jahrhundert Saarbrücken (Germany), Visiones sonoras (Morelia), Susa Festival (Denmark), etc.; and in cities such as Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt, Cologne,  Geneva, Basel, Graz, Malmö, Madrid, Barcelona, among others; by ensembles such as: ensemble recherche, Ensemble Contrechamps, Trio Accanto, SMASH Ensemble, Remix Ensemble, Sigma Project, NEXEnsemble, Ensemble Cattrall, Trio Nexus, etc, and soloists such as: Teodoro Anzellotti, Eric-Maria Couturier, Mats Scheidegger, Bertrand Chavarria, Richard Craig, Sisco Aparici, Carola Schlüter, etc. His works have been recorded and produced by RNE, WDR, SR, ORF, DRS2, YLE,  IBS Classical, Stradivarius, etc.

—-–Courses, lectures and seminars in Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and México.

—-–He has been a guest professor of composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC, Barcelona) during the 2004-2005 academic year. He is currently co-director of the Master’s Degree in Contemporary Instrumental Composition (CSKG, Madrid).
